Authentication
Learn how to generate an API key and authenticate requests to the MeetRox API.
Authentication
The MeetRox API uses API keys for authentication. Every request must include a valid API key; requests without one will be rejected with a 401 Unauthorized response.
Generating an API Key
API keys are scoped to a workspace. To generate one:
- In MeetRox, open Settings and, under the Settings section, select API.
- Click Create API Key and give it a descriptive name (e.g.,
"Data Warehouse Sync"). - Copy the key immediately — it is only shown once.
Important: Store your API key securely. Treat it like a password. Do not commit it to source control or expose it in client-side code.
Using Your API Key
Include your API key in the x-api-key header on every request:
curl https://api.meetrox.ai/v1/calls \
-H "x-api-key: YOUR_API_KEY"Key Format
MeetRox API keys are prefixed with mr_ws_, for example:
mr_ws_a1b2c3d4e5f6...
Managing Keys
You can have multiple API keys per workspace — useful for isolating access by integration or environment. Keys can be renamed or revoked at any time from the API settings page.
When a key is revoked, all requests using it will immediately receive 401 Unauthorized.
Security Best Practices
- Rotate keys periodically and revoke any that are no longer in use.
- Use one key per integration — this makes it easier to audit usage and revoke access selectively.
- Never share keys across workspaces or teams.
